Trade between the US and Mexico, a close-up look: 2021

In 2020, Mexico's trade flows (exports plus imports) to and from the United States and Canada represented 65.7% ($ 525.9 billion) of its total trade flows ($ 800.0 billion).

Mexico is a relevant force in other sectors besides the automotive one: agricultural products, livestock, fish and other marine products are fundamental in the tables of the Americans. The importance of Mexican inputs in states such as Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Michigan is clear in diverse sectors.

At the same time, there are great areas of opportunity for our country to become a relevant supplier. Identifying states (like Massachusetts and Illinois) where there is low participation could help deepen our relationship and boost our growers.
