Convocation 3.0

The U.S.-Mexico Foundation and the Mexico Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center held an Ambassadors Retreat in Palo Alto and New Year, California, from April 27th to 30th, 2023. In this third retreat, former ambassadors from the United States to Mexico, from Mexico to the United States, and special guests from Canada were called upon to discuss the present and future of the bilateral relationship. More than 15 former ambassadors, the Mexican Ambassador to the U.S., and business leaders joined us. We had the opportunity to visit the offices of HP and Oracle, where we had very interesting conversations about supply chains and the use of technology in them, as well as discussions about educational collaboration.

Over the course of four days, the former ambassadors discussed the most important topics in the bilateral relationship, including the economy, workforce developments, security, soft power, and migration, with the expectation that the ideas presented will strengthen the bilateral relationship.

The main conclusions of the discussion will be published in an informative document, with strategies for the binational relationship.

The U.S.-Mexico Foundation and the Wilson Center thank our sponsors and partners for their generous support of this initiative.
