Call for DREAMers and Mexican Americans to apply for a life-changing trip to Mexico “Dreamers Without Borders”

U.S.A, May 9, 2017.- The U.S.-Mexico Foundation (USMF) is happy to announce the 2017 application of the Dreamers Without Borders Program!

Dreamers Without Borders reconnects Dreamers of Mexican Origin and 1st generation Mexican Americans who live in the United States with Mexico, for the purpose of contributing to their empowerment by promoting a sense of identity and renewed pride in their cultural heritage. The Program also fosters a commitment, amongst Dreamers and Mexican Americans to stay connected with Mexico and to promote greater understanding between both countries and to support social advancement in Mexico.

The U.S.-Mexico Foundation is the leader organization in executing educational and service learning trips for Dreamers having taken more than 150 Dreamers to Mexico. In addition, the Dreamers Without Borders program is the most prestigious because of its unique collaboration with several States from Mexico.

For 2017, the USMF is planning to have a summer and winter delegation continuing its collaboration with the states of Guanajuato, Guerrero, Michoacán, Puebla and El Estado de Mexico. “We are proud to continue the partnerships established for the 2017 delegation because they allow us to offer participants a truly unique agenda filled with memorable educational activities that will include a stay in Mexico City and a stay in the capital of their state of origin. In addition, we are happy to have open this program to Mexican Americans that have never visited Mexico, reaching out to more youth of Mexican descent that possibly belong to mixed status families.”, said Rebeca Vargas, USMF’s President & CEO. “We have done this because we believe that through these delegations, we will empower more young leaders to become committed to promoting binational understanding and collaboration by becoming active members of our Young Binational Leaders Network”, added Rebeca.

Dreamers have until May 20th to apply for the summer delegation and until August 20th to apply for the winter delegation. The only requirement is to fill out an application and present a short video and a letter of recommendation.
