Statement of Purpose
The USMF approved a one-year grant to continue a comprehensive intervention model in eight marginalized public elementary schools in the state of Morelos. In alignment with USMF strategic lines, Proed (founded in 1997) is a solid nonprofit organization addressing central issues of public education in Mexico. Proed works in public elementary schools with a comprehensive intervention model, which offers workshops, talks, and courses to the educational community in different areas of education (teacher training, finances, nutrition, etc). The model ties in with the USMF interest of funding innovative approaches to education by offering an integral education model promoting teacher, parent and student engagement. It has proven positive impact in the communities where it implements this model.
