Raúl Rodríguez Barocio

Raul Rodriguez-Barocio has a long and distinguished career working in both the U.S. and Mexico, and a lifelong personal commitment to improving the level of collaboration between both countries. He serves as Tom Benson Chair in Banking and Finance and Distinguished Professor at UIW in San Antonio, the largest Catholic university in Texas.  Co-Chair of the International Committee of the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University and Founding Chairman of the Center for Medical Tourism Research.  Business consultant and partner in medical and energy firms.  Among Mr. Rodríguez’s career highlights, he served as CEO of the North American Development Bank; as Executive Director at the Mexican Foreign Trade Bank; Trade Commissioner of Mexico in Canada; Secretary for Economic Development of the border state of Tamaulipas in Mexico; partner and chairman of two marketing and business consulting firms in Mexico; and Engineering Professor at Monterrey Tech.  He served as Founding Chairman of the North American Center at Arizona State University.  Current Treasurer of the Board of the Cisneros Center for New Americans.   Honorary Consul of Spain in San Antonio.  Host of “Hablemos de Negocios”, weekly business interviews at Univision TV in San Antonio, Austin and South Texas.   He has published business essays in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, the U.K. and the Netherlands and has participated as a lecturer in over 30 countries. A graduate of Monterrey Tech and Harvard University, where he was recognized with the Littauer Fellow award for his “commitment to excellence, academic achievement, and public service”.
