Mr. Zapien is a graduate of the University of Arizona. He holds a M.A. from the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management, a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, and is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar. Over the last two decades, Mr. Zapien built a reputation as a skilled operative through his work including leading the effort to appoint and re-elect Senator Bob Menendez, head of the Washington D.C. advocacy office for Walmart, and his most recent expat assignment managing Walmart’s corporate reputation efforts in Mexico and Central America. He currently serves as CEO of Zapien Ventures, LLC. Mr. Zapien founded Zapien Ventures to leverage his two decades of experience in politics, law, crisis, business development and the corporate sector to provide a broad range of advisory services to fortune 500 companies and high impact stakeholders in Washington, DC, and Mexico City, Mexico. In addition, he serves as Vice-Chairman of the Close-Up Foundation in Washington, D.C., and as a trustee of the Ormsby Hill Trust.
